Read 2 Peter 3 in context

Scripture Focus

12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
2 Peter 3:12-13

Biblical Context

Peter urges us to eagerly await the day of God, when the old order dissolves. He envisions a future where a new heavens and a new earth house righteousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the day of God is not a distant event but a state of consciousness you enter by assuming the truth of who you are. The heavens on fire and the elements melting are not meteorology; they are the burning away of limiting beliefs and identifications that say you are separate from life, from abundance, from justice. When you identify with the I AM—the timeless you that cannot be diminished—you stand within a new order that already exists as your present interior life. In this inner life, righteousness dwells by quiet consent, not by striving. The external world will mirror this inner shift only as you maintain the vision; expectancy becomes experience as you persist in imagining from the end. This is the true meaning of looking for and hastening the day: you accelerate through the use of imagination to align with the kingdom that already resides within you.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare: I am now dwelling in the new heavens and the new earth; righteousness is my present state. Feel this as real, and let any sense of lack revise away until your inner weather matches the vision.
