Staying Awake to Inner Righteousness

2 Peter 2:20-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Peter 2 in context

Scripture Focus

20For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
2 Peter 2:20-21

Biblical Context

Those who escape worldly pollution by knowing Christ but return to old patterns end up worse off than they began. Knowing the way of righteousness and turning away reveals a deeper inner accountability.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the realm of your mind, the knowledge of the Lord is the moment you awaken to the I AM within. The pollutions of the world are the lingering beliefs and identifications you still entertain. To escape them is to rise in consciousness; to be entangled again is to reassert those old selves. The 'latter end' being worse than the beginning is not punishment from God but the inner law showing you that you know better and yet cling to a former state. The 'holy commandment' is the inner covenant you have with your higher self, the living law of your being. Turn from it, and you sever your alignment with that law, inviting inner unrest. Do not condemn yourself; simply revise your state back to the awareness you intend to inhabit. Your reality follows your inner state; choose to remain faithful to the inner law you have discovered, and outward life will reflect that fidelity.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine you are already living in the inner righteousness you know. Rehearse the feeling of being the I AM, undisturbed by old habits, and repeat a simple revision: 'I am the I AM, and I dwell in the righteousness I know.'
