Scripture Focus

2 Peter 1:9-10

Biblical Context

The verses warn that neglecting inner virtues blinds you to a larger vision and forgets the cleansing of past sins; by diligently cultivating these qualities, you secure your calling so you do not stumble.

Neville's Inner Vision

Viewed in the I AM light, these lines declare that failure to live by the inner disciplines clouds perception of the longer horizon and causes you to forget the purging of the old self. The 'these things' are inner states—faith joined to virtue, knowledge joined to temperance, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity—that guard the mind against surface appearances. When you lack them, you are blind to what lies ahead. Therefore cultivate a constant habit of inward revision: acknowledge that your calling and election are already established in your indwelling I AM; practice these states until they become your natural endowment. If you dwell there, you will never fall, for you are living from the end rather than chasing outcomes. The verse invites you to align with your true identity, letting imagination steady your consciousness until the sense of being chosen becomes your present reality.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the state: 'I am the called and chosen, already purged and complete.' Feel the inner virtues as real now and carry that end into today, guiding your actions from that certainty.
