Biblical Context
Peter urges believers to remain reminded of the teachings and stay established in present truth, while he notes his coming decease. He asserts they did not follow fables but were eyewitnesses of Christ’s power and majesty.
Neville's Inner Vision
Peter’s words reveal that remembrance is a state of consciousness, the tabernacle a temporary vessel, and present truth the living awareness you inhabit now. The voice from the excellent glory is the inner guidance of the I AM affirming your divine sonship. You are called to let go of old self-images (the coming demise of the tabernacle) while keeping these truths alive in memory, so they endure beyond any outer change. The eyewitness account is your own inner certainty that the power and coming of Christ are real within you, not distant legends. To claim this, you must revise to the conviction that you are already beloved, and that God’s pleasure rests on your present state. Your practice is to inhabit that state now, trusting that imagination renders this truth tangible in your life.
Practice This Now
Imaginatively step into the state: assume you are already in the present truth and feeling the Father’s pleased voice within. Repeat a brief revocation of lack and a revived sense of being the beloved, until it feels real.
