Inner Belonging Awakens Reward
2 Kings 4:11-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Kings 4 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Elisha asks what can be done for the hospitable Shunammite, but she replies that she dwells among her own people, signaling a deep sense of belonging and inner community rather than seeking outward favors.
Neville's Inner Vision
In every moment you are invited to recognize that the 'what is to be done for thee' question is the mind offering you a mirror of your own state. The Shunammite’s answer, 'I dwell among mine own people,' is a profound statement of inner sovereignty: she has already created a home within consciousness where care, connection, and belonging reside. The king or captain of the host are external projections of your desire for recognition; yet the true reward is the settled feeling of being at home in your own universe. When you have sown generosity and attentiveness to the inner image of God within you, you need no external grant to complete you. Your outer life merely reflects the abundance you have already established in awareness. So, treat every act of kindness toward your inner images as the building of a permanent city within: you are not waiting for words of power from without; you are the power, the host, and the listener, already dwelling in harmony with your own people.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling: I dwell among mine own people, and I am complete in consciousness. Then revise any sense of lack by affirming, 'I am cared for by the community of my inner self.'
