Inner Covenant Violation

2 Kings 21:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Kings 21 in context

Scripture Focus

2And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
2 Kings 21:2

Biblical Context

The verse describes a king who did evil by following the abominations of other nations, after they were driven out.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider 2 Kings 21:2 as a mirror for the mind. The king acts evil by following the abominations of the heathen—those 'other nations' represent states of consciousness that forget the I AM within. The Lord casting them out before Israel signifies that in the mind there is a separation: awareness remains, and the old idolatries can be expelled when seen for what they are. The scene asks you to notice that each so-called external abomination begins as a thought, a picture, or an attachment in the imagination. Your true nature, the I AM, is the governing awareness; when you identify with the heathen you depart from the covenant of God in you. The remedy, then, is to revise the state by assuming you are already obedient to the divine law. Dwell in the feeling-it-real that you are aligned with holiness, not needing idols, no longer seeking to imitate the world. In that inner shift, the outward condition follows; your inner kingdom is restored by your choice of consciousness.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and revise the thought that you must follow idols into I AM the LORD of my inner kingdom. Then breathe and feel it real for a minute, asserting obedience and holiness now.
