2 Kings 2:8

Biblical Context

Elijah takes his mantle, strikes the Jordan, and the waters divide so he and Elisha cross over on dry ground.

Neville's Inner Vision

Elijah’s mantle is the visible symbol of a state of consciousness you can choose. When he smites the Jordan, the river yields to a dominion established within; the outward miracle reflects an inward act of awareness. The mantle signifies your I AM, the steady sense of 'I am' that commands life rather than being commanded by it. As the waters divide, dualities—fear and doubt, lack and limitation—are parted by your sustained acknowledgment of being the I AM. The two crossing over—Elijah and his companion—represents the old and the new you, the state before awakening and the awakened state now walking through life on dry ground. The key is not the historical event but the inner fact: your inner assumption shapes the external motion. If you dwell in the consciousness that you are the source and supervisor of your experiences, the Jordan parts as a reflection of that inner certainty, and you move forward on solid ground regardless of appearances.

Practice This Now

Assume the mantle of awareness for a moment: feel it wrap your shoulders, declare I AM, and picture the Jordan's waters parting so you may step across on dry ground.
