2 Kings 19:5-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Kings 19 in context

Scripture Focus

5So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
6And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
7Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
2 Kings 19:5-7

Biblical Context

The threat is a barrage of blasphemous words from the Assyrian king; Isaiah counsels not to fear because God will turn the assault back and the foe will fall.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the Neville Goddard key, the Assyrian is not a distant army but a storm of thoughts pressing against your sense of self. The blasphemous words are the ego's doubts that pretend to define you by circumstance. When Isaiah says Be not afraid of the words, he speaks to the inner I AM: you can disown the old self-image by clinging to the consciousness that your true identity is God, the I AM that never swerves. The promised blast upon him is the sudden shift in vibration you generate by choosing a new internal decree. The rumor that causes the enemy to retreat mirrors a revision in your inner story: you tell yourself a new version of reality that the previous fear cannot stand against. As the foe moves to his own land, your attention withdraws from the drama, and your life reorganizes around a higher truth. The miracle lies in your internal conversion: when you dwell as the I AM, the exterior appears transformed to match that inward certainty.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, rest in the I AM within you, and silently declare I am the true presence; this fear has no power over me. Then revise the scene in your imagination so the threatening words crash like thunder and vanish, and see the foe retreating to its own land as you hold unwavering faith.
