Inner Samaria and the I Am

2 Kings 17:24-28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Kings 17 in context

Scripture Focus

24And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
25And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.
26Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.
27Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.
28Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.

Biblical Context

Foreigners replace the Israelites in Samaria; lions appear due to not knowing the God of the land; a priest is sent to teach them how to fear the LORD.

Neville's Inner Vision

All the upheaval in the verse is not about geography but the inner terrain of your consciousness. The relocation of peoples mirrors a shift in your states of mind: you have invited new thoughts into the Samaria of your heart, and for a moment fear arises—the lions—when you forget the God of the land within. The lions indict the old belief that you must fear without turning to the I AM within. Then a priest arrives—your inner guide, a newly imagined image of the God of the land, brought from the realm you own in consciousness. You allow this teacher to dwell in Bethel of your mind and instruct you how to fear the LORD, not in dread but in reverent awareness. The result is not outward change but inner alignment: the true providence is that the I AM is the landlord of your land; invite the priest, accept the teaching, and the lions recede as your inner city becomes a sanctuary of worship. This is the law: belief reforms experience by its inner consent.

Practice This Now

Assume you are the priest within your own land; in a short meditation, revise a current problem by declaring I am the God of this land and the I AM rules here. Then feel the atmosphere shift.
