Inner Reign: Repetition of Sin

2 Kings 15:17-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Kings 15 in context

Scripture Focus

17In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.
18And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
2 Kings 15:17-18

Biblical Context

Menahem begins his ten-year reign in Samaria and continues the sins of Jeroboam; he does evil in the sight of the LORD, not turning away from those old patterns.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider the verse as a mirror for your inner life. The king who reigns in Samaria represents a state of consciousness that clings to the old sins of Jeroboam—the mind in habit to external forms rather than the living I AM. When you identify with that king, you allow 'evil' to appear in your sight, not as punishment from without but as resistance within to your true nature. The call is to recognize that you are not bound to the ancient pattern; you can revise by shifting the meaning you give to outward symbols and ceremonies, replacing them with awareness of the one presence and power within. As you persist in the imagination of a faithful interior reign, you awaken from habit and birth a new order of your inner weather. In Neville's terms, you are not seeking to change the world so much as to change your assumption about who you are and what it means to live in the I AM. The inner kingdom can choose a different king, and with that choice, the night of old sins dissolves into the light of a present, conscious reign.

Practice This Now

Assume you are the inner king and whisper, 'I AM the ruler of my inner kingdom.' Visualize the old sins stepping aside as a new, faithful reign begins—and feel that new reality as already true.
