The Word Within, Outer Judgment

2 Kings 1:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Kings 1 in context

Scripture Focus

16And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.
2 Kings 1:16

Biblical Context

The king seeks guidance from Baalzebub and is told there is no God in Israel to answer him; as a result, he will die and remain confined to his bed.

Neville's Inner Vision

This verse invites a Neville-style reframe: your true guidance comes from the I AM within, not from external idols. When you attempt to inquire of a god outside, you declare a separation between awareness and its expression, and you contract your life to a limited bed. The LORD's remark, that there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word, signals that the word that governs your life is internal. To align with it, you must revise your state by assuming the inner word is already spoken and that your I AM now directs all events. See the outer scene as a reflection of your inner stance, not the source of life. By choosing to hear and inhabit the divine decree within, you awaken from the bed of limitation and restore wholeness, health, and agency in your experience.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, place a hand on your heart, and declare inwardly: I AM the Word of God within me. Then feel the answer present now, as you revise outward events by the inner decree.
