Doctrine of Inner Fellowship
2 John 1:9-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 John 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
It teaches that those who do not remain in the doctrine of Christ do not know God, while those who do remain in it have the Father and the Son. It also warns against welcoming or blessing those who teach otherwise and longs for face-to-face fellowship to bring fullness of joy.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the Neville Goddard frame, the 'doctrine of Christ' is not a creed but a state of consciousness you awaken in. To transgress this inner doctrine is to deny God within, to live in a mind that does not keep faith with the I AM. He who abides in this doctrine—this awareness that the Father and the Son are one in you—enjoys the mutual presence of divine Father and Christ Presence. When others arrive bearing a different teaching, you do not receive them as separate from your inner kingdom; you do not grant your blessing to thoughts or voices that deny your unity. The passage calls you to exclude the counterfeit from your inner 'house'—your conditions, assumptions, and habits—that would quicken fear or separation. Yet it also points to the joy of immediate contact with truth: not ink and paper, but a living face-to-face speaking with the awareness of God in you, so your joy becomes full. Your accountability is to your inner state: the quality of your belief determines the quality of your world.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: In the next moment, assume the inner truth that you are dwelling in Christ's doctrine now. Revise any competing thought by repeating 'I am one with the Father and the Son' until this unity feels real in your chest.
