2 John 1:4-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 John 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage celebrates believers walking in truth and the joy of seeing faithful ones. It repeats the ancient command to love one another and to walk according to God's commandments.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within your inner city of mind, the truth is not a rule you chase but a state you assume. When John says that they walk in truth, he means the inner alignment of consciousness with what you already are. The commandment to love one another is the inner law of your I AM, the way your awareness moves when it ceases to identify with lack or separation. To walk after His commandments is to keep faith with the living principle within you, to dwell in the certainty that truth and love radiate as your outer world. The from the beginning becomes now; obedience is not effort but the steady practice of letting your inner vision govern your acts. By feeling the truth of oneness as I AM, you manifest obedient action as natural expression, not as service performed for appearance. Thus the verse invites you to revise your sense of self until walking in truth becomes your habitual mode of being.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, I am walking in truth and love now, keeping the Father’s commandment within my consciousness. Visualize a specific person and feel the warmth of acceptance spreading from your I AM to them, letting that feeling dominate your nervous system.
