Grace Abounding Within You

Within the verse I hear the whisper of your own I AM, that inner Titus who began a noble work in you. When Paul says that Titus should finish what he began, he is pointing to the inner completion of the grace you have already received. The word grace is not a donation from without but an energy of being—an inner favor that turns thought into life. As you abound in faith, in utterance and knowledge, in diligence, and in love toward us, you are asked to abound in this same grace. Not by commandment, but by the bold enthusiasm—the forwardness—of your inner self, the sincerity of your love shining through your consciousness. The outer display mirrors the inner state. When you conceive that you are already complete in grace, you no longer seek to obtain it; you awaken to its presence as your natural condition. The proof of love arises from the steadiness of your inner conviction, not from outward constraint. You can revise the sense that you lack anything; you can feel-now that you are abounding in grace, and Titus within you completes what began in you.
