Inner Surrender and Fellowship

2 Corinthians 8:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Corinthians 8 in context

Scripture Focus

4Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
5And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
2 Corinthians 8:4-5

Biblical Context

Others urged us to receive the gift and join in the fellowship of ministering to the saints. They first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the one who reads these lines, know that the gift is not money but an inner alignment. When they prayed to be in fellowship, they were seeking to unite their entire being with the I AM within. The fellowship of ministering to the saints is the inner companionship of all who share the same state of consciousness the unity of purpose and the quiet energy that flows when the self is surrendered. The crucial movement is the first act: they gave their own selves to the Lord to the I AM within and then to the servants of God by the will of God. This is the rule: outward acts follow the interior decision. The will of God operates through your cleared desire and your disciplined imagination; you must not chase outcomes, but align attention with the state you desire. When you inwardly concede to the divine, the external gift, the opportunity to serve, and the fellowship itself unfold as natural expressions.

Practice This Now

Assume in the present tense I give myself to the Lord now. See yourself walking in inner fellowship with the saints, and let that state guide your actions and choices.
