Righteousness Surpasses Condemnation

2 Corinthians 3:9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Corinthians 3 in context

Scripture Focus

9For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
2 Corinthians 3:9

Biblical Context

Paul states that the old ministration of condemnation had glory, but the ministration of righteousness now exceeds it in glory.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this verse, the two ministries are not external institutions but states of mind. The ministration of condemnation belongs to a consciousness that measures life by appearances, by lack, and by separation. Yet the true glory belongs to the ministration of righteousness, a state of awareness in which you know yourself as the righteousness of God in Christ. When you dwell in that recognition, you shift from the old story of judgment to a new reality of grace. The first ministry is external and argumentative; the second is inward and luminous, drawing all experiences into harmony with your inner state. Your imagination is the instrument by which this shift is made; as you assume the feeling of being righteous—already justified, loved, complete—the outer world aligns with that inner glory. The “exceeding” glory is a present condition of consciousness, not a distant goal, persistently available regardless of appearances. You are not striving for righteousness; you are awakening to the awareness that you already are righteousness within the I AM.

Practice This Now

Assume the state: 'I am the righteousness of God in Christ.' Feel that truth in your chest until it anchors; when a condemning thought arises, revise it to: 'This thought does not define me; I am righteous now.'
