2 Chronicles 7:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Chronicles 7 in context

Scripture Focus

16For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
2 Chronicles 7:16

Biblical Context

God declares He has chosen and sanctified this house so His name may dwell there forever, and His eyes and heart will be there continually.

Neville's Inner Vision

See the 'house' not as bricks but as the state of your own consciousness. When God says, I have chosen and sanctified this house, He invites you to awaken to the truth that your inner temple is already consecrated by the I AM. The 'name' dwelling there is the awareness of being, the eternal you who knows itself as I AM. The 'eyes and heart' are your attention and feeling, fixed there perpetually, not by outward ritual but by inner consent. Thus, the temple is not a place in space but a condition you occupy in imagination: you imagine that your life is the sanctuary where divinity resides; you tune your attention to that holy presence; you feel the reality of the I AM as your immediate experience. In practice, you do not beg for God to come; you revise your assumption until it feels true: I am the I AM perceiving through this temple, and this temple is eternally chosen and sanctified.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine you are the house; declare silently, 'This temple is sanctified; the I AM dwells here.' Hold the feeling that your eyes and heart are perpetually fixed in that divine presence.
