Biblical Context
Levites and priests, arrayed in white, form a unified chorus as they play instruments and lift their praise. When their voices join as one, the Lord's mercy and presence fill the temple.
Neville's Inner Vision
Let us see the scene as the inner theatre of your consciousness. The Levites and priests are facets of your awareness, arrayed in white linen, playing cymbals and harps—the varied tones of belief, feeling, memory, and desire. The hundred and twenty trumpets are your thoughts sounding in harmony with your emotions. When these inner elements align—the sound, the praise, the gratitude—their energy becomes one recognition that you are good and that mercy endures. In that unity the temple of your mind fills with a cloud—the sign of the presence of God, the I AM, the awareness that never leaves you. The external temple is but an outward symbol of an inward state; by assuming the state of coherent praise, you invite Presence to become your immediate experience. The house does not fill God; God fills your house through your conscious acknowledgment.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the state I AM as the conductor; imagine your inner singers and trumpets moving as one, and feel your consciousness fill with Presence.
