Cleansing the Inner Temple

2 Chronicles 29:15-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Chronicles 29 in context

Scripture Focus

15And they gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and came, according to the commandment of the king, by the words of the LORD, to cleanse the house of the LORD.
16And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the LORD, to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the LORD into the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levites took it, to carry it out abroad into the brook Kidron.
17Now they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month came they to the porch of the LORD: so they sanctified the house of the LORD in eight days; and in the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end.
18Then they went in to Hezekiah the king, and said, We have cleansed all the house of the LORD, and the altar of burnt offering, with all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread table, with all the vessels thereof.

Neville's Inner Vision

Viewed through the I AM eye, what you read in 2 Chronicles 29:15-18 is a psychological awakening. The king's command becomes an inner decree, and the priestly faculties enact a cleansing of the sanctuary of your mind. The uncleanness they remove corresponds to every thought and feeling not in harmony with the I AM, fears, doubts, and old images that clog the temple. As you gather your brethren—your aspects of self—you sanctify them, aligning with the inner authority and setting them apart from mere habit. The inner sanctuary is cleansed as the priests and Levites lift away the refuse and carry it to the brook Kidron; in your imagination you release discordant images into the stream of awareness, allowing a fresh current to flow through consciousness. The eight days of sanctification symbolize a complete cycle of revision, during which every corner of belief, every vessel of appetite and memory, is examined and purified. And when the report comes, 'We have cleansed all the house of the LORD,' you sense the inner confirmation: the altar, the bread table, the vessels—renewed by your conscious act. This is the working of imagination: a holy, undefiled sanctuary arising from your disciplined you.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the inner king has cleansed your temple. Feel the impurities gathered, removed to the brook of awareness, and rest in the realization that the eight-day cycle of purification is complete.
