Biblical Context
Jehoshaphat began ruling at 35 and followed Asa’s ways, but the high places were not removed because the people had not yet prepared their hearts to the God of their fathers; the rest of his acts are recorded elsewhere.
Neville's Inner Vision
Jehoshaphat’s rule over Judah is a symbol for your own inner sovereignty. His choice to walk in the way of Asa points to a steady, repeated alignment of your current state with a higher pattern—an inward obedience that keeps faith even as circumstance remains. Yet the text warns that the high places—those outer forms of worship and old loyalties—are not removed. In your life you may notice the same: outward rituals without the inner readiness. The people’s hearts were not yet prepared unto the God of their fathers; that is a reminder that preparation of the heart is not a once-and-done act but an ongoing inner decision, a daily turning of attention back to the I AM, back to the living God within. Your inner record, the book of Jehu in the metaphorical sense, is being written by your present acts of belief. If you revise the inner assumption to see yourself as the prepared heart, your outer world will begin to reflect that alignment. This is the mystical law: consciousness precedes circumstance; inner kingdom first, then outward kingship.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume the inner sovereignty now and revise the belief that the heart remains unprepared. In a moment, say, 'I am the prepared heart now,' and feel the I AM aligning your outer life with the inner king.
