Biblical Context
Asa heeds the prophetic word, removes idol worship from the land, renews the altar of the LORD, and gathers Judah, Benjamin, and scattered strangers who sense the LORD's presence. This inner gathering mirrors a readiness to align all parts of self with divine presence.
Neville's Inner Vision
When the king heard the prophecy, he did not deliberate in the hall of fear; he acts from the I AM within. The 'idols' are the fixed beliefs and images you have allowed to rule your inner land. Removing them is not about geography but about casting out inner idols in your own heart and mind, so the altar of the LORD can be renewed where consciousness stands before the porch of awareness. The gathering of Judah, Benjamin, and the others represents gathering every fragment of self—past hurts, doubts, and limited stories—into one consciousness that knows the I AM is with you. When the self aligns with that Presence, the feeling of separation dissolves; you find your inner Jerusalem, your center, where all parts recognize their source. The verse says they did this because they saw that the LORD his God was with him—so your awake awareness is the proof. Practically, you can turn to your own imagination and act as if the divine presence is already there, and watch the former idols fall away.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already free of lack and fear; revise your mental state to 'I am one with the LORD now,' and feel the I AM presence filling your mind.
