Inner Discernment of 1 Timothy

1 Timothy 6:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Timothy 6 in context

Scripture Focus

4He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
5Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
1 Timothy 6:4-5

Biblical Context

The passage warns that prideful dispute and chasing after words lead to envy and ruin; it urges withdrawal from such distortions and a return to truth.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, this line is a map of your inner kingdom. The proud man who knows nothing dwells in a mind that is forever debating words; such energy breeds envy, strife, and the false notion that gain equals godliness. In truth, the kingdom is not out there but within your own awareness, the I AM. When you, in imagination, revise that inner speech, you withdraw your attention from the quarrelsome thoughts and the so-called facts they summon. You plant a new seed: humility, truth, and discernment, ruling your consciousness instead of the pestilent outcry of the ego. The corrupt minds are simply a state of mind, and their 'destitute of the truth' is a belief that misleads; awaken to the fact that your wealth, your health, your relations follow from your inner alignment with divine order. So assume the presence of the wise observer within, the one who does not chase gain but gently embodies rightful living. When you feel this real, you will see the world shift to that inner state.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In a moment of stillness, assume the state I am the wise observer within. Revise a current inner dispute by saying quietly This strife is not my reality; truth and humility reign, and feel the new state as a real sensation in your chest.
