7But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

8For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

9This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

10For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

Your ministership is an inner function of consciousness. When you remind yourself of these truths, you become a good minister of Jesus Christ within your own mind, fed by words of faith and sound doctrine you already hold. Bodily exercise is sought after by the outer man, yet it profits little; the inner discipline, godliness, profits in all things, holding a promise for this present life and the life to come. The living God is not somewhere distant but the I AM you are aware of, the Saviour of all your experiences, especially those you truly believe. You labor and endure reproach because you remain faithful to that living Presence. The faithful saying is worthy of acceptance: this is the atmosphere of your being. Therefore, revise every distracting thought, refuse the fables of doubt, and devote yourself to cultivating a godly state. As you abide in that consciousness, you find yourself moving through events with a quiet assurance that inner truth governs outward form.
