Inner Law and Gospel Realization
1 Timothy 1:8-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul says the law is good when used lawfully. It targets the disobedient and ungodly, guiding seekers toward the gospel and sound doctrine.
Neville's Inner Vision
Treat the law as an inner discipline of your consciousness, good only when used by the I AM. The 'righteous man' is the state of awareness already resting in truth; the rest—lawless and disobedient thoughts—are simply movements of a mind not yet fully awake. When you assume the I AM as the governing center, you place the law where it belongs: upon your shifting mental states, your fears, your cravings, and your old identities. The long list of offenses in the text becomes a symbolic inventory of unwanted inner states you choose to revoke. You do not condemn them; you revise them by affirming a new state: you are the man of sound doctrine, the gospel incarnate in consciousness. The gospel is not a future event but the realization that truth is already established within you. By using the law lawfully—watching thoughts, choosing again, and feeling the reality of the new self—you bring your inner world into alignment with the divine order, and your outward circumstances respond from that inner conviction.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly and feel the I AM as governing center. Assume the inner order by repeating: 'From this moment I live by sound doctrine; the inner gospel is real within me.'
