Inner Timing of The Lord

1 Thessalonians 5:1-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Thessalonians 5 in context

Scripture Focus

1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-3

Biblical Context

Paul warns that times and seasons are not to be found by outward clocks; the Day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night, and the idea of peace and safety can give way to sudden disruption.

Neville's Inner Vision

Viewed through the I AM, these words reveal a ladder within. The 'times and seasons' are not ticking clocks outside you, but states of awareness you inhabit. The 'day of the Lord' is the moment you awaken to your true power as consciousness, coming not as a future event but as a revealed self when you least expect. The thief in the night is the surprise of your own divided attention, when you forget that you are the thinker, and the world appears as if it happens to you from without. When they cry Peace and safety, you are invited to notice the habit of reliance on external security; but the inner truth is that birth pangs accompany transformation as you outgrow old selves. The destruction spoken of is not punishment but the collapse of old beliefs that cannot bear the light of your new vision. Therefore, stand watch inside, for the Day is won in the stillness when you assume the end from the beginning and feel the reality of your I AM now.

Practice This Now

Assume now that the Day is already here as your awareness. In a quiet moment, revise a current belief about timing by affirming, 'The day of the Lord is my immediate reality.' Then feel-it-real by breathing into that conviction for 60 seconds.
