Bold Voice in Adversity

1 Thessalonians 2:2-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Thessalonians 2 in context

Scripture Focus

2But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.
3For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:
1 Thessalonians 2:2-3

Biblical Context

Despite prior mistreatment, Paul and companions spoke boldly for God and the gospel, even amid contention. Their exhortation was pure: no deceit, no uncleanness, no guile.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your conscious life is the field of Paul's boldness. The 'suffering' and 'contention' are inner movements in your awareness, not distant events. When you feel opposed or diminished, remember that the I AM within you does not waver; it speaks the gospel of your true nature with clarity, purity, and without guile. The claim that their exhortation was not deceit is a call to inspect your own inner speech—ask: Is this word I am about to utter born of fear, manipulation, or self-interest? No; let your inner I AM be the author, and let your exhortation be the living truth of your state. By aligning with that God-state, you erase the sense of separation and realize you are always in the witness of your own I AM, the source of every bold utterance. Practice this inner conviction now, and observe how your outward words reflect the sanctity of your inner state.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the state: I am bold in God, speaking truth without deception. Feel the alignment of your inner I AM with your spoken word, and let purity of motive flood your awareness.
