The Inner Ark of Atonement
1 Samuel 6:3-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Samuel 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The Philistines send back the ark and, to heal their land, are instructed to offer a trespass offering; they choose five golden emerods and five golden mice, symbolizing their plagues, and are told to give glory to the God of Israel so that He might lift His hand from them.
Neville's Inner Vision
Observe that the ark is not a mere box but the presence of the God within. The command to send back a trespass offering invites a conversion of your relationship to your own I AM; to acknowledge fault is not to grovel, but to reestablish proper covenant with your deepest Self. The five emerods and five mice are outer tokens that picture inward plague: fear, guilt, distraction, pride, inertia. When the world offers symbols, you recognize and name your inner afflictions, and by honoring the God within, you allow the light of that Presence to release the hold of those states. True worship is not ritual but fidelity of attention; by returning glory to the God of Israel you restore alignment. Then God’s hand lightens—not by force but by your renewed faith that the I AM governs your life. Your consciousness moves from bondage to freedom as you dwell in that inner loyalty and let the imagined reality reflect outwardly.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already healed by aligning with the I AM; revise a current fear and imagine presenting a trespass offering to the inner God, feeling the weight lift as His Presence lightens your mind.
