Inner Deliverance in 1 Samuel

1 Samuel 24:10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Samuel 24 in context

Scripture Focus

10Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that the LORD had delivered thee to day into mine hand in the cave: and some bade me kill thee: but mine eye spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord; for he is the LORD's anointed.
1 Samuel 24:10

Biblical Context

David spares Saul, stating he will not harm the LORD's anointed after Saul's pursuit in the cave.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within your consciousness, the cave is a moment of temptation where fear presses to act. Saul embodies the old king in you—the impulse to strike at what you fear. To say, I will not lay hands on my lord, is to declare the I AM sovereign over the dream; the LORD's anointed becomes the divine presence within every part of you, even what seems adversarial. The line 'the LORD had delivered thee' becomes inner knowledge: you have been brought to a place where you can choose mercy instead of retaliation, and in that choice you dissolve the belief in separation. Sparing the foe is a revision of the dream, affirming unity with all facets of self. When you treat the fearful thought as an anointed expression of God, you transform a threat into an ally. Your inner deliverance is the realization that the I AM is always present, guiding your choices and healing your sense of division.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In stillness, picture the cave within and declare, I will not strike the LORD's anointed in me. Breathe mercy into the fear until it relaxes into harmony.
