Inner Escape Through Imagination
1 Samuel 19:11-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Saul's messengers seek to kill David, but Michal deceives Saul by placing an image in the bed and declaring David sick, enabling David to escape through a window.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this narrative the outer plot is a mirror of the inner life. Saul stands for fear pressing in from the outside; Michal's image-laden deception is the imaginal act by which you cover your true Self with a substitute to keep life intact. The bed becomes the arena of awareness where a counterfeit image sits, while David represents your I AM, the real self that slips away from the sound of threat. The window is consciousness opening; the pillow of goats' hair is the comforting but false support you clutch at night. When Saul's messengers seize at dawn and find only the image, you are reminded that appearances are not reality. Your practice is to recognize that the I AM remains untouched by any appearance, and you can revise the image with truth, letting the sense of safety rise as real in you. Use imagination to restore alignment with God, and you will see that you are already saved within.
Practice This Now
Today, assume the feeling of safety by declaring, 'I am safe in the I AM this night.' Then revise the false image into a manifestation of your true self and feel that truth as real.
