Inner Kingdom Shift

1 Samuel 15:28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Samuel 15 in context

Scripture Focus

28And Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.
1 Samuel 15:28

Biblical Context

The passage states that the Lord has torn the kingdom from Saul and given it to a neighbor who is better. In Neville terms, this points to a shift of inner state from a fixed, fearful outward self to a higher, more faithful inner state.

Neville's Inner Vision

Observe that the kingdom Saul held is not a crown in history but a state of consciousness you inhabit when you identify with power, fear, and outward success. When the text says the Lord rent the kingdom from thee and gave it to a neighbor that is better than thou, hear it as an interior edit, not a punishment. The 'neighbor' is a mode of awareness that is nearer to the divine order -- the better assured sense of I AM that believes and acts from inner truth. Samuel's word is your inner voice reminding you that the outer reign is contingent upon the inner alignment. The true monarch within is imagination rightly used: it creates your experience and appoints the proper ruler -- the neighbor state -- that is more faithful to your true nature. Thus the removal is the invitation to switch allegiance from a fear-based ego to a higher neighbor of consciousness that quietly governs your life. The moment you accept this inner transfer, you live as if the kingdom were already securely reigned by the wiser self.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe slowly, and assume the inner neighbor is now king within you; feel the reigning I AM, and affirm, 'My inner kingdom is shifted to a higher awareness now'.
