Inner Exaltation Through Humility
1 Peter 5:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Peter 5 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verses call you to submit to one another in humility, for pride invites resistance. Grace comes to the humble, and true exaltation follows when you align with the mighty hand of God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Remember, the world you see is a mirror of your own consciousness. 'Young' and 'elder' are inner states, not generations; you are the I AM, the awareness that chooses which state you will wear. To submit to the elder is to yield your immediate impulse to the wiser, governing presence within you. Clothe yourselves with humility means to dress your mind in a quiet assurance that you need not fight for a place, that the authority within you already holds all you seek. God resisting the proud is the echo of your own fear-based thoughts that think you stand apart from Source; grace to the humble is the flowing acceptance that your desires are already moving toward you as you release resistance. Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God is an invitation to stay aligned with the universal power that animates you, not to make anything happen by force. In due time, exaltation comes as the inner atmosphere shifts—your sense of self expands, and what was imagined becomes experienced by your outer scene. Exaltation is realized knowing you are already crowned by your own inner king.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: For a few minutes, assume the feeling 'I am humble and under the hand of God.' Visualize the elder within guiding every choice, and feel grace saturating your being; rest in the certainty that exaltation is already yours in due time.
