Inner Eldership and Glory
1 Peter 5:1 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Peter 5 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Peter speaks to the elders among you, asserting his own role as elder, a witness to Christ's sufferings, and a participant in the glory that will be revealed. The verse anchors leadership in shared suffering and the promise of future glory.
Neville's Inner Vision
Peter speaks from the inner throne. The elders among you are not external authorities but states of consciousness you cultivate. I, too, am an elder—a witness to the sufferings of Christ—meaning I observe the crucifixion of the old self within the field of awareness. Suffering, in this sense, is not punishment but the movement by which you purge resistance to your true nature. As you witness those movements from the I AM, you participate in the coming glory not as an event to be awaited but as a realization already present in consciousness. The glory that shall be revealed is the glory you now affirm through the impression you make upon your world with a steady, unwavering assumption. Do not seek validation from without; dwell in the feeling of its reality until your inner state matches it.
Practice This Now
Assume the elder state now: in stillness, declare 'I am the elder' and feel the old self fall away as you allow the unfolding glory to occupy your mind.
