Solomon's Inner Throne
1 Kings 8:20-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Kings 8 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Solomon states that the LORD has fulfilled His word, sits on David's throne, and has built a house for the name of the LORD, placing the ark where the covenant is kept.
Neville's Inner Vision
Solomon's words are not about outward conquest but about an inner coronation. The LORD hath performed his word—your awareness now proves its truth. I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel—my I AM rises within the lineage of the awakened self and sits in the seat of dominion. I have built a house for the name of the LORD God of Israel—my mind has formed a temple where the name of God is honored. And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD—my inner covenant, the living agreement of God with me, kept in the sanctuary of awareness, recalling the deliverance from Egypt—the old bondage is dissolved in present consciousness. So the inner king reigns through the settled assumption that God is within. The Kingdom of God appears as the quiet authority of consciousness, and the Presence is felt in the temple I hold in mind.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are seated on the inner throne of your David; feel the ark of your covenant present and declare, 'God within me reigns now.'
