Inner Provisions of the Kingdom
1 Kings 4:26-28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Kings 4 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Solomon had vast stalls for horses and a large number of horsemen, with officers supplying food for the king and all who came to his table; barley and straw were provided for the animals, according to each man's charge. The outer abundance reflects a well-ordered inner realm.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of Solomon as the conscious I AM ruling a well-ordered inner realm. The forty thousand stalls and twelve thousand horsemen symbolize powers and appetites under disciplined governance. The officers who provide victual for the king and his guests are the faculties of judgment, imagination, memory, and will, faithfully gathering the sustenance of every desire that arises. When your inner state is clear and the I AM stands as king, nothing is lacking at your inner table; the sense of fullness is not earned by striving but enacted by conviction. The barley and straw carried to the place of the officers signify the daily feed for these powers—the small, ordinary thoughts, dreams, and images that sustain action. Each is brought according to charge, i.e., in proper alignment with your defined assumption. Thus the entire kingdom of your life follows one disciplined state of consciousness, and outer provision obeys the inner assumption. Change the state, and the entire banquet rearranges itself to match your inner monarch's decree.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly and assume the state of abundance; feel the I AM as king, with the officers delivering sustenance to your inner table. Rest in that feeling until it becomes your natural state.
