Inner Courtroom of Naboth

1 Kings 21:8-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Kings 21 in context

Scripture Focus

8So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.
9And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:
10And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.
11And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.
12They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.
13And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.
14Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.
1 Kings 21:8-14

Biblical Context

Naboth is framed and condemned by forged letters; the elders comply, Naboth dies.

Neville's Inner Vision

Notice that the scene in the outer history is only a mirror of a deeper movement in consciousness. Naboth, the figure of integrity, becomes the victim when the mind submits to fear, reputation, and the desire to please the public. The sealed letters, the proclaimed fast, the two witnesses—these are the recurring devices by which a belief tries to force a plot upon your life. But there is a king in you, the I AM, who never signs a sentence against truth. All events are not happening to you but are energy you have previously invited into your inner theatre. When you realize this, the power to revise returns. Do not resist the 'elders' or the 'nobles' as outer authorities; rather, re-appoint them as inner affirmations of your real nature that serve justice, mercy, and fidelity to your higher self. In practice, occupy your imagination with a present-tense picture of rightful outcomes, and feel the certainty of it until it becomes your felt reality. The moment you assume this, the appearance of coercion dissolves into the light of your chosen consciousness.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise the scene by declaring, 'I am the I AM; truth and justice prevail in this mind.' Feel it real until the outer appearance reflects your inner acceptance.
