Inner Verdict: Blood and Peace
1 Kings 2:32-33 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Kings 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage states that Joab's slaughter of Abner and Amasa will rebound upon him. Meanwhile, David's line is promised perpetual peace from the Lord.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the inner theater, the blood on Joab’s hands is not punishment handed to him by a distant God, but the image your own mind cast that returns to the thinker. The verse names a verdict: the effect of violence returns to its source, and a longer covenant of peace rests with David and his house. See how the outer names of Abner and Amasa dissolve when you understand your own consciousness as the field where all scenes arise. Joab embodies the aggressive, impulsive state that acts without alignment to the I AM; his 'blood' is the residue of friction between that state and divine order. The rightful king is not a person out there but the clear, steadfast awareness within you. When you acknowledge the I AM as sovereign, you cease feeding the old image and instead foster the untroubled peace that flows to David's throne. The outer "blood" is the inward consequence of fear-driven action; the true outcome is inner peace and a life governed by righteous alignment.
Practice This Now
Imaginatively revise: assume the I AM as the sovereign king of your consciousness, release guilt from past acts, and feel the peace that follows. Say, 'There is peace in my house, and I am the king of this inner realm.'
