Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Solomon, representing rightful inner rule, dispatches Benaiah to remove Adonijah. The rival claim to kingship dies, restoring order within consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the king as your I AM—the steady, waking awareness that never forgets its sovereignty. When the text says Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah and Adonijah fell, you glimpse a lawful act of inner administration: a decree coming from within, carried out by the disciplined faculty of your mind. Benaiah is not a person to be idolized but a symbol of a faculty that executes a decision you have affirmed in imagination. Adonijah embodies the old self’s restless ambitions, the impulses that would usurp your proper rule. To die here is not punishment but the shedding of a belief or habit that threatens your wholeness. By recognizing the I AM as king, you allow that inner law to act unimpeded; the outer scene reflects the inner alignment. The Kingdom of God is realized as you feel the throned, loving presence ruling every thought, every impulse. When you act from the I AM, you need not chase outcomes; outcomes chase you, naturally, as the old self yields to the new order.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state of the inner king. Imagine Benaiah, the disciplined faculty, stepping forward to remove a stubborn impulse by decree of your I AM.
