Inner War, Outer Peace
1 Kings 12:21-24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Kings 12 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Rehoboam’s army forms to fight for a reunified kingdom, but God’s word halts the plan. The inner command to return home restores unity.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, see how the scene on the hills is but a mirror of your inner state. The 180,000 warriors are not an army of flesh, but the frenetic forces of argument and fear within you trying to force a kingdom you fear to lose. Then the inner voice speaks: Thus saith the LORD, you shall not go up; return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. When you hear that, you awaken to the truth that the outer drama is born from your own consciousness. In this moment, the I AM—the one undivided awareness—claims the situation and dissolves the imagined war. You do not defeat the other part of yourself; you disarm the sense of threat by accepting that the discord belongs to your inner state, not to some distant foe. The word of the LORD is your decree, and obedience to it returns you to your center, your house of peace. As you hearken, the two kingdoms cease their split, and harmony becomes the natural kingdom within you. The external conflict is the last echo of a waking dream; the moment you align with the divine, the scene departs and you stand in unity.
Practice This Now
Assume the peaceful state now and feel the I AM guiding you. Reverently revise any inner dispute by declaring unity and returning to your center.
