Inner Sin, Inner God: 1 John 1:10
1 John 1:10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 John 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse declares that claiming you have not sinned is a false denial that makes God a liar. It implies a denial of reality and cuts off the living Word within you.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Neville’s language, sin is not a tally against a distant deity but a misalignment within the I AM you call God. When you say, 'I have not sinned,' you are refusing the awareness that consciousness is unfinished, and you turn away from the truth that the Word is continually alive in you. The moment you pretend purity without awareness, you exile the Divine Presence from immediate experience, for the Word dwells in the now, as your very sense of I AM. To be in denial is to collapse the bridge between conscience and creation: you stop the traffic of divine life and your world stiffens, because imagination is the instrument by which the Father speaks through you. The remedy is not outward rules but turning toward the truth that you are consciousness, and that repentance is a turning back to alignment, not guilt. By accepting your humanity and choosing to feel the reality of the Word within, you reestablish God's speech in you and invite forgiveness and reconciliation with all you encounter.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling: 'I AM the Word within me now.' Sit quietly, breathe, and repeat this revision until the sense of separation dissolves and your inner life aligns with God.
