One God Within You
1 Corinthians 8:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Corinthians 8 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The text distinguishes the many 'gods' of belief from the singular truth that there is one God, the Father, and one Lord Christ; our life rests in Him.
Neville's Inner Vision
All the so-called gods are shadows of your own mind—different states of consciousness that seem to rule you. There is truly only one God, the Father, of whom all things proceed, and you are in Him. And there is one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom all things are and through whom you live. When you hear of many gods, understand they are the outward drama of inner belief. Your task is not to fight external powers, but to dissolve separation by affirming unity: I AM in the Father, and the Father is in me; the Christ within me directs every movement of my life. This awareness makes the world bend to your inner state rather than the other way around: the apparent many lords yield to the one Presence you acknowledge. By dwelling in this unity, you discover that all phenomena are symbols of your inner state, ready to be rearranged by the revision of your assumption. So practice now: assume you are the Father’s expression, and that the Christ within you governs all you meet. Feel it real, and watch outward events respond to your inner truth.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already in the Father and the Christ within you; feel the unity as a present fact. If separation arises, revise with: there is only one God, and I am in Him now.
