Inner Covenant State

1 Corinthians 7:27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 7 in context

Scripture Focus

27Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.
1 Corinthians 7:27

Biblical Context

The verse counsels staying with your present relational state rather than seeking release or a new marriage.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your life is the outward sign of an inward state. To be bound to a wife or to be loosed from one is not a fate but a reflection of your current assumption. If you feel bound, cease seeking external release and, instead, assume you are already united with the I AM—practice feeling that bond as real. If you feel loosed, refrain from seeking another mate; rest in the consciousness that you are one with God and that outer relationships follow that inner unity. The rule is not to fight the world but to revise the inner image. When you maintain the definitive assumption of wholeness and covenant, the inner state radiates into the world, rearranging circumstances to match the new image. Do not chase changes in the exterior; dwell in the end you desire, imagine it true, and let the imagination do the rest. Your only duty is fidelity to the state you inhabit, for the I AM within you creates your world.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes and repeat I am the I AM, one with the divine will; you dwell in the covenant of your present state. Then feel that unity filling your heart as real, and let that feeling linger until the outer scene follows.
