Power Beyond Words Within

1 Corinthians 4:18-20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 4 in context

Scripture Focus

18Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.
19But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.
20For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
1 Corinthians 4:18-20

Biblical Context

Some in Corinth are puffed up about appearances; Paul says he will come to reveal the difference between speech and power, for the kingdom of God is power, not words.

Neville's Inner Vision

Picture it as the I AM within you. The puffed-up ones are states of mind that mistake eloquent talk for real power. When your attention is set on future appearances, you are choosing sleep over awake presence. The 'shortly' coming is the inward movement of power awakening in consciousness, not a timetable. The kingdom of God is not in word but in power because true authority arises when awareness is actually functioning as power—the moment you know by living experience, your words become instruments, not proofs. So refuse to worship words; turn your focus to the inner demonstration. Sit with the conviction that you are the power you seek, and let your imagination align with that truth. In time, the outer world will reflect the inner state, and truth and faithfulness show as lived reality rather than spoken slogans.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume the state of power now—silently declare 'I AM' as the living presence; revise boasting into quiet certainty, and feel the power move through you and your surroundings. Watch how people respond to the inner alignment.
