1 Chronicles 9:16

Biblical Context

Verse 9:16 names Obadiah and his forebears, descended from Jeduthun, living in the Netophathite villages. It highlights lineage, place, and communal belonging.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within me, the names are not relics of old times but a map of my inward kingdom. Obadiah and his kin, sprung from Jeduthun and Elkanah, are states of that I AM that dwell not on distant lands but in the quiet villages of my own mind—the Netophathites: humble, ordinary places where life gathers. When I align with the feeling of belonging, with the sense that every thread of lineage in my heart has value, I begin to see my family, my community, and my dignity reflected in the world outside me. The 'Netophathites' are the lowly corners of self where unity can be cultivated; the names form a chorus of praise and order, reminding me that my inner life has structure, memory, and purpose. By affirming that I am the source of this dwelling, I release scarcity and discord and invite harmony, kinship, and respect for human dignity as imaged in all beings. So the verse invites me to inhabit a state of unity within, and to let it be the air my relationships breathe.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already dwelling in the inner Netophathite village, surrounded by kin in unity. Feel the dignity of this inner state as real in your chest, and let your daily thoughts reflect that harmony.
