Read 1 Chronicles 4 in context

Scripture Focus

43And they smote the rest of the Amalekites that were escaped, and dwelt there unto this day.
1 Chronicles 4:43

Biblical Context

The verse describes defeating the remaining Amalekites and settling in that land.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within your being, the Amalekites are the stubborn remnants of fear and habit that refuse to die in the old consciousness. Smoting the rest of the Amalekites represents a decided assumption—an I AM assertion that they are no longer real in you. To dwell there unto this day means that until this inner victory is complete, the old fears linger in your mental air. God is your I AM, and the battles you read about are waged in the field of imagination. You do not conquer a people outside you; you revise your inner state until your current atmosphere is peace, clarity, and assurance. The land you dwell in is the state of consciousness you now inhabit, and as you hold to the revised image, the escaped threat ceases to trouble your day. Thus, the verse becomes a map: inner enemies are slain by the repeated, unwavering assurance of the new state, and you dwell in a land of present peace.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume you are already in the settled land by repeating, with feeling, 'The last of my fears is slain; I dwell now in I AM peace.' Sit with the feeling until it registers as present-tense reality in your body and mind.
