Kindness Amid Misunderstanding
1 Chronicles 19:2-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David seeks to show kindness to Hanun because Nahash did to him; he sends messengers to comfort Hanun. The Ammonite princes interpret this as treachery and humiliate David's envoys.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, observe that the outer peril is but a reflection of an inner state. David embodies the I AM in action—mercy extended beyond fear. Hanun and his princes represent a tremor of doubt: a belief that kindness is a cover for attack, a dream of invasion in the land of self. When the messengers come to comfort, the scene asks you to notice how your thoughts can be misread when fear presides. The remedy is not to contest the other’s motive, but to hold a steadier state: I will be kind, I will not abandon the one who needs comfort, I will imagine my hospitality arriving intact and received. As you dwell in that inner setting, the apparent opposition bends, and the messenger’s mission becomes the actualization of your benevolent intention. Remember: reality follows the state you assume. So if you choose to regard every encounter as a possibility to comfort rather than to conquer, your inner drama will rewrite itself and care will enter the scene.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling of kindness toward someone who misreads you today; revise the scene inwardly by picturing them receiving your comfort as an inevitable reality. Feel it real in your chest and let that version become your new norm.
