Inner Gathering and Purity

Zephaniah 3:8-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Zephaniah 3 in context

Scripture Focus

8Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
9For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.
10From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.
11In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.
12I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.
Zephaniah 3:8-12

Biblical Context

Zephaniah 3:8-12 speaks of waiting on the LORD until He rises to judge and purify, then gathering the nations and turning away pride; a purified people will call on the LORD with one voice, and the humble remnant will trust in God.

Neville's Inner Vision

Listen to the inner law speaking through Zephaniah: waiting on the LORD is waiting in awareness until I rise up within to gather all the parts of my mind. The fierce anger is the cleansing fire that purifies my thoughts, turning outward judgment into inner unity. The nations and kingdoms are the images and impulses I have scattered within me; my determination to gather them is my choice to unify my consciousness under the name of the LORD—the I AM I am in this moment. Then a pure language appears: I speak and think in harmony with God, calling upon the LORD with one consent. From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants—the distant, disowned faculties—bring their offerings when I honor every part as sacred. I shall not be ashamed of old deeds, for pride is removed; a humble, afflicted company remains and they trust in the LORD. In that trust, my mind rests in the I AM, and the holy mountain becomes my renewed heart, where inner peace and power are one.

Practice This Now

Assume you are the I AM gathering every part of your mind into one center and feel the unity. Then speak the LORD's name with one consent and let that inner harmony overflow into your words and actions.
