Inner Covenant Awakening
Zephaniah 3:2-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Zephaniah 3:2-4 depicts a city that would not listen, would not accept correction, and would not draw near to God. Its rulers and prophets are portrayed as corrupt forces within, polluting the sanctuary and violating the law.
Neville's Inner Vision
Zephaniah's words read like a map of the inner life. A city that has forgotten the living voice within is a soul asleep to the I AM. The voice neglected is the inner guidance, the correction is the gentle adjustment of consciousness, and trust in the LORD is trust in this divine state I am. When I ignore it, the inner princes become roaring lions, my judges are evening wolves, gnawing away at the daylight of awareness. The prophets are light and treacherous, voices that claim truth yet carry deceit; the priests pollute the sanctuary when I perform rites without feeling the reality of the law of love. Yet the decay is not final; it is the alarm bell inviting me to reign inwardly. If I return to the inner authority—the I AM—as ruler, revise the inner scenes, and feel the truth of divine order, the sanctuary is cleansed. The message becomes for me a practice: awaken, align, and live as if the covenant is immediate now, not distant. Holiness is a present occupancy of consciousness, and the inner government operates from there.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly and declare I am the I AM, I trust the LORD, I draw near; feel the inner temple fill with light and let old voices fade.
