Inner LORD: Zephaniah 3:2
Zephaniah 3:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Zephaniah 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse names a person who did not listen to the voice, did not receive correction, did not trust the LORD, and did not draw near to God. In Neville’s terms, this points to a state of consciousness disconnected from inner guidance.
Neville's Inner Vision
Zephaniah’s line is a mirror for our inner weather. What is spoken of as obedience, correction, trust, and nearness is really the alignment of your inner states with the I AM, your awareness. When you say you did not listen, you reveal a belief in separation from the voice that guides from within. When correction is rejected, you resist growth that comes through inner discipline. When trust in the LORD falters, you experience a distance from your own divine center. And when you do not draw near to God, you maintain a memory of self that stands apart from the living Presence. The remedy is simple and practical: assume a new state of consciousness where the inner voice is heard, correction is welcomed as divine guidance, trust is active, and nearness to the I AM is felt in every moment. Persist in this revised state and you will discover that distance dissolves as awareness becomes your only reality, and life reflects your inner alignment.
Practice This Now
Assume the inner voice is present now; revise by repeating, 'I am drawing near to the I AM within' while feeling a warm, luminous presence at the center of my chest.
