Biblical Context
The verse invites the meek to seek the LORD, righteousness, and meekness, promising protection in the day of the LORD's anger.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the LORD as the I AM within you, the steady witness you are learning to inhabit. Meekness, in this sense, is the humility of consciousness that yields to the divine order rather than clinging to fear or control. To seek the LORD is to turn your entire attention to the one Presence within; to seek righteousness is to align every thought and action with that Presence; to seek meekness is to let the ego dissolve into the light of God and allow this Presence to govern your responses. When you inhabit this state, the 'day of the LORD's anger' loses its grip because you have chosen to live from the eternal now where the I AM is always present. The word 'hidden' denotes your true self concealed by disbelief until you awaken to this inner king. By assuming the consciousness of the Lord, you are shielded from the external theater, for your world reflects the inner order you hold. Practice now by imagining the I AM as the sole ruler of your life, feeling that presence steady, tender, and inexhaustible; your judgments soften as this truth takes command.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a moment of need, stop and declare internally, 'I am the meek of the earth seeking the LORD within.' Revise the sense of separation by affirming, 'The I AM is my only power,' and feel that presence as a warm, quiet certainty until it feels real.
