Read Zechariah 9 in context

Scripture Focus

9Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
10And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.
11As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.
12Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;

Biblical Context

Zechariah 9:9-12 proclaims a coming king who embodies justice and salvation, delivering peace to the nations. It also speaks of liberating prisoners and inviting you to turn to the stronghold of faith within.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the temple of my own awareness I hear Zechariah’s promise as the I AM stepping forth. The King comes to me, just and having salvation, yet humble, riding on a donkey—the power of God clothed in simplicity. The chariot from Ephraim, the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow dissolve in my inner arena; they are weapons of fear dissolving as I yield to peace. He shall speak peace unto the heathen, and his dominion shall extend from sea to sea, from the river to the ends of the earth—thus my entire consciousness is governed by one law: harmony within and without. By the blood of my covenant I am drawn out of the pit wherein is no water, released from lack by a vow renewed in imagination. Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope; today I declare I will render double unto thee, doubling my awareness, my faith, and my joy. The inner king’s arrival changes the atmosphere of every moment, because reality follows the state I assume and feel real.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling, 'I am the King coming now; I am safe, I am free'; dwell in that scene until it feels real, then speak peace to any inner conflict and let that peace rule your days.
